Wyberton Parish Council: Boundary & Identity Survey
Introduction: Wyberton Parish Council wants to ensure that our boundaries truly reflect where you feel you belong. As the Borough considers changes to local governance, we want to hear from residents about their sense of community and which council they feel best represents their interests.
1. Where do you feel you live?
People often have a different "postal" address than their community identity.
• When someone asks where you live, do you say "Wyberton" or "Boston"?
• [ ] Wyberton
• [ ] Boston
• [ ] Other: _________
• Do you feel your home is part of the Wyberton village community, or do you feel more naturally connected to Boston town?
• [ ] Wyberton Village
• [ ] Boston Town
• [ ] Neither/Unsure
2. Current Awareness
• Before today, were you aware that your property sits within the boundary of Wyberton Parish Council?
• [ ] Yes
• [ ] No
• Which of these local facilities do you or your family use most often? (Tick all that apply)
• [ ] Wyberton Community Centre
• [ ] Wyberton Playing Fields / Pinfold Lane
• { ) Wyberts Play Park / Parthian Avenue
• [ ] Local Wyberton shops (e.g., Spar/Post Office)
• [ ] Boston Town Centre facilities (e.g., Market Place, Geoff Moulder)
• [ ] Other: _________
3. Representation & Governance
• If you had a local issue (e.g., a problem with a local play area, a parish noticeboard, or a small planning matter), which council would you contact first?
• [ ] Wyberton Parish Council
• [ ] Boston Borough Council
• [ ] I wouldn't know who to contact.
• The Parish Council is your most local tier of government. Do you feel that being part of "Wyberton" gives your neighbourhood a distinct voice that might be lost if it were merged into a larger Boston town council?
• [ ] Yes, a local voice is important.
• [ ] No, I would prefer to be under a single Boston council.
• [ ] No opinion.
4. Boundary Preferences
• There are proposals to adjust boundaries near [mention specific area, e.g., the Tytton Lane East/A16 corridors. If you live in these areas, would you prefer to remain/become part of Wyberton Parish or be part of a new Boston Town Council?
• [ ] Stay with/Join Wyberton Parish Council
• [ ] Join a new Boston Town Council
• [ ] Unsure
• Why did you give that answer? (e.g., cost of council tax, local identity, quality of services)
